It is certainly an interesting concept to me, to think of the High Priest of the local "good" temple having an abysmal morality score, and the Dark Sorcerer of Chaos down the road from there having a high Morality score, this would lead to some cool RP and unexpected twists, all implied by one simple roll of 3d6.Alhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01682401446176099294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3094937232522894470.post-76360585662053303512011-03-26T05:08:32.002-07:002011-03-26T05:08:32.002-07:00@Logan - you could certainly use the stat for inte...@Logan - you could certainly use the stat for interesting game challenges, like "resist the temptation to take up the cursed, soul-eating spear", etc, needing to roll your Morality Score or less to resist. Someone with high Morality should have little problem leaving the thing alone, but someone with an 8? ;)Alhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01682401446176099294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3094937232522894470.post-53492456793090708582011-03-25T23:16:43.669-07:002011-03-25T23:16:43.669-07:00One of my Thursday night players just emailed me t...One of my Thursday night players just emailed me this post...I think they want me to include a "morality stat" in my new game.JBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08532311924539491087noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3094937232522894470.post-8818900972389075692011-03-25T19:29:13.364-07:002011-03-25T19:29:13.364-07:00In Tekumel, the people of the Five Empires (for th...In Tekumel, the people of the Five Empires (for the most part) are morally governed by a concept called "Noble Action." An act is considered "noble" when it is within the strictures of their professed faith and "ignoble" when they act against them.

For instance: A worshiper of Lord Thumis, God of Wisdom, is "noble" when seeks and shares knowledge for the benefit of all. Meanwhile a follower of Lord Ksarul also seeks wisdom, but for selfish and aggrandizing ends. He's "noble" when he keeps knowledge for their own benefit. However, if the Ksarul worshiper started to share knowledge, no matter how beneficial, they would be "ignoble" and considered despicable even by the worshiper of Thumis.Mark Sieferthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14409314388156575545noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3094937232522894470.post-10940149045167813142011-03-25T13:31:10.790-07:002011-03-25T13:31:10.790-07:00Should the player know their score for this stat? ...Should the player know their score for this stat? it might be interesting to have this hidden from them, and have their character sheet say "13".Lasgunpackerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13529298072677726064noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3094937232522894470.post-29993295596612599242011-03-25T13:05:06.421-07:002011-03-25T13:05:06.421-07:00pretty cool idea!pretty cool idea!Ragnorakkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03812860633134547618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3094937232522894470.post-10111725957930430432011-03-25T12:40:48.286-07:002011-03-25T12:40:48.286-07:00Nice Idea, but I have some questions:

Or is it just for discription?

If you want to do tests, then I have another question: Is it easier to be good than evil. Because the good score is higher than the evil one. I mean, you can easier roll below an 13 to 18 than a 3 to 8.Loganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16936874766468598377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3094937232522894470.post-35813422733713217972011-03-25T12:32:29.042-07:002011-03-25T12:32:29.042-07:00Sounds like a new dump stat (evil grin).
