Random Table - Quick NPC personalities
It can get tiring trying to come up with personalities for every Tom, Dick, and Harry man-at-arms your party hires, so here's a way, with a couple of quick rolls, to turn them into Tom the Impartial, Dick the Bewildered, and Harry the Depressed.
Ah, that's better! :)

ReplyDeleteAlso handy for picking my "mood of the day". Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWow, two hundred personality types? Excellent! Thanks for this; you're like a blogging thesaurus. I will definitely be printing and keeping this table.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you want a character with some depth; use both tables - that's, what, 10,000 combinations?
ReplyDeleteYoinked for great justice! Again.
Converted into OpenOffice Spreadsheet... done.
World domination... initialising.
That's one big list! Or even two!
ReplyDeletePerfect timing, I'll be using this tonight!
ReplyDeleteGreat work. I think with your compendium of little random tables your the reason I started getting into them again.
ReplyDeleteConsider breaking the chart down into smaller tables using charisma scores. Higher charisma scores would have a greater likelihood for favorable qualities, while lower scores can reflect the likelihood of negative qualities. You could also have a true personality table that correlates to the initial outward personality table. Example: an NPC can appear very friendly on the outside, but in reality he may have selfish and dishonest tendencies. There could be endless combinations of outward and underlying motives and personalities. Just one to throw into the idea bin;).
ReplyDeleteAnd stolen. Cheers.

ReplyDeleteNice, except that you made the font way too damn dark.
