Old School Power

It was interesting to note over on EnWorld today that their number one most read "list" article was the one featuring retroclones. Check it out here.

I'll leave it to you folks in the comments sections to ponder what that says about our little niche of the gaming webiverse.

  1. My take? I think its a combination of three things.

#1 people want to be part of a greater community with continuity.

    #2 A little nostalgia

    #3 A "rules bloat" fatigue

I'd also bet that the readers are quite often DM's . Old School unlike more modern rules is the DM's game, not the players. This can be attractive for a DM who feels like the rules are taking his game away from him.

  2. Being a vampire is not what it seems like. It’s a life full of good, and amazing things. We are as human as you are.. It’s not what you are that counts, but how you choose to be. Do you want a life full of interesting things? Do you want to have power and influence over others? To be charming and desirable?
