What a nice blast form the past--Ready Ref Sheets is still one of the most useful things they ever put out. Thanks for posting these. Lots of good memories there. The Book of Islands and the Book of Villages were handy too...
A lot of younger folk don't like this artwork but I think it is the direct link back to the pulps and early SF&F paperbacks that influenced everything.
Just when I'm sitting here ready to punch myself in the head over the project I'm working on I see something like this and it all comes back...I remember why I love this...
FYI you are getting bad links on a number of the pics. Very cool though otherwise.
ReplyDelete@ckutalik - got em, thanks! Some sites just don't appreciate free advertising I guess...
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Judges Guild books are awesome!!! My favorite cover have always been The Illhiedrin Book - damn that is a sexy cover! =D
ReplyDeleteHere I thought I had a decent collection of JG and you go and show me a ton I am missing. Way to go Al.
ReplyDeleteReally? "Glory Hole Dwarven Mine"?
ReplyDeleteSome great old school art on those though. I also like the LARP photo cover.
